Cloud concepts

Cloud consumption and deployment models

Separate deployment model, consumption and service ownership before making a cloud-cost claim. A connected public/private arrangement and a pay-for-use arrangement answer different questions.

02
Cloud concepts

Benefits, scaling and reliability boundaries

Distinguish available service, capacity changes, recovery and prediction by the requirement each addresses. Redundancy, scaling and forecasting are related tools with different evidence.

Cloud concepts

Choose the service layer before assigning responsibility

Use a workload’s required control to distinguish IaaS, PaaS and SaaS, then identify customer decisions retained after infrastructure management moves. A managed platform changes who maintains layers; it does not settle every business access or data decision.

04
Azure architecture and services

Placement and resource-organization scope

Separate geographic placement and failure isolation from the administrative hierarchy used to organize Azure resources. A resource group is a management boundary, not a datacenter.

05
Azure architecture and services

Compute fit and network reachability

Choose hosting and network concepts from explicit workload and reachability requirements. A compute choice and an endpoint choice do not answer the same question.

Azure architecture and services

Storage interface and resilience choices

Match storage access interface, access frequency and failure/recovery requirements before comparing options. Storage redundancy is not a universal replacement for a recovery plan.

Azure architecture and services

Identity proof and resource permission

Separate identity proof, authentication factors and permission scope. A successful sign-in or additional factor does not grant an unrelated Azure resource action.

08
Azure management and governance

Hypothetical estimates and recorded spending

Build a bounded estimate from supplied inputs, then distinguish it from recorded-cost analysis and cost attribution. Notifications do not by themselves impose a universal spending cap.

09
Azure management and governance

Resource rules, access, and accidental-change protection

Choose a control by the explicit requirement: principal permissions, resource properties or accidental-change protection. A nearby governance feature is not automatically the correct enforcement layer.

Azure management and governance

Repeatable management and deployment

Separate an interaction interface from a repeatable infrastructure description. Portal, shell, command tools and Resource Manager templates play related but different roles.

Azure management and governance

Recommendations, health, and workload evidence

Match recommendations, platform health and workload telemetry to the question being investigated. An alert reports a condition; remediation requires its own explicit design.

Azure architecture and services

External users, legacy protocols and conditional access

Separate legacy protocol compatibility, partner collaboration, sign-in conditions and resource permission.

VM, storage and migration: identify the required change

Azure infrastructure comparisons become clearer when the requirement names the change: add instances, distribute a fixed group across failure/update boundaries, supply private network connectivity, select storage services, copy data, keep files synchronized, or assess a migration. These changes are related but are not interchangeable. This lesson extends selected foundation coverage through concrete VM and storage decisions. It is not a complete deployment guide. Keep the application, permissions, supported workload and physical/network constraints visible; the same product can be useful in one phase without solving every other phase.

Cloud concepts and Azure management/governance

Cloud economics, governance and managing supported hybrid resources

Cloud concepts are useful when they explain an actual operational decision rather than decorate a list of product names. This lesson connects the service-delivery relationship, spending model, repeatable management, data governance and management of supported external resources. Those are several boundaries, not one universal cloud feature. The teaching is a selected foundation extension. It does not replace the official study guide, licensing decisions, a complete price comparison, a compliance assessment or hands-on administration. Keep unknown contract details and configuration obligations explicit instead of inventing them from the word cloud.
